Kaliper Pacing: stop dropped calls when buyers say "available" and then go silent
When a buyer's dialer (TLD CRM, EnrollHere, VICIdial, and similar) reports open agents, many pings can hit at once. The dialer accepts more than it can seat. Callers hear dead air and hang up. You paid for the click or the media; the call never connects.
Pacing spaces outbound traffic so the dialer only gets work it can actually take.
Two controls, per target (and per buyer where needed):
1. Bid pacing — Kaliper reads how many agents the buyer reports available and only passes that many accepts inside a short window (usually matched to that target's auction timeout). Three agents free means up to three accepts in the window, not a free-for-all of simultaneous pings. Stops the "10 pings, one agent free, nine dead-air drops" race without starving buyers who truly have capacity.
2. Ping pacing — sets a minimum gap between all pings out to that buyer, so TV/CTV and other spike traffic does not burn the buyer's rate limit in the first seconds of every minute.
Setup is per target in Kaliper Relay. Your team can turn it on and tune it; typical windows are a few seconds, not minutes. Best fit when buyers run classic dialers or you see connect failures under volume spikes. Accounts already using it for this problem include operators who chose ping control specifically because pacing fixed their buyer-side race.
If your buyers are on modern dialers that only accept when real seats are free, you may not need it. If drops spike when traffic spikes, you probably do.
